It is an old favorite of mine since I was in middle school ( born in 1964). It is an era of where women had to struggle to attempt accomplishing more with their life than being married, have kids, clean the house and cook. It does have a balance though so it does not underestimate the role of a woman as a mother and a wife nor that it discourage women from seeking a career. The author shows how vital family closeness and support is to one's life.
