Very good writer was just slightly dissapointing to know this writer won a Pulitzer prize while other writers I have read this year were not just very good writers but outstanding writers. Story was streched so long for a sequel that was upsetting as well.

I have to say for a young adult book it was surprisingly intriguing how the author has been able to drag the story out through the whole series. Looking forward to her next book.

The ending of this book was a big dissapointment and not because the ending was left open to interpretation but because as you get more into the relationship of Jonas and the Giver she ends it so abruptly.

I enjoyed this book so much with its twist and turns. I never expected Julian's father to be who he was and I could just picture myself in the Cemetery of Forgotten books. I am sure all book lovers would give almost anything to be in a place like that if it existed. This is truly a book for anyone who loves the mystery of writers and their words who keep us coming back to be lost within the pages of their worlds.

My first Wally Lamb book was She's Come Undone, and I think at the time I was still at the stage where I under appreciated the value of a good book. Having read this book you can see Mr. Lamb's great passion for writing and emotion. In this book he says all the things that people dont talk about concerning sibling rivalry, the truth about what we feel our parents do to us that affect the outcome of our adulthood. When I saw all 891 pages I thought I was going to be bored by the end of this book but on the contrary I was more ensconsed with each chapter. Dominico's story and Dominick's reaction to the chain of events in his life had me intrigued from beginning to end. To Mr. Lamb I agree with you yes a book this size is a monster and a daring move but you pulled it off and its emotion rings with every word.

Well written once again I am finding a pattern in these kind of novels where food represents alot of the culture. However although the story touching the writer failed to entirely grab my attention.

I know that we all want to say we have read the classics by the literary greats, I however am very bias when it comes to this author. I think Koontz is exactly my cup of tea. His stories of true test and faith with quirky off beat characters remind me so much of my own home life and remind me that I dont have to conform to what society thinks is the norm. Koontz reminds me of someone who comes from a long line of acient storytellers he has a gift and has very rarley disspointed me as a fan.

This was an interesting twist on a crime fiction in where the cop is suffering from stockholm syndrome brought on by a previous case, while working a new case. The writer kept me involved in both of the stories being told. A different but good story.

This was recommended on a library list the synopsis seemed interesting, the actual story however was not. The author did not do a good job of portraying his own life story. It almost seemed as if I was reading a boring account of a an adults memories who either could not put his most profound moments in to words or really did not have anything other than the norman trials and tribulations we all go through. Though reading the preview you expected so much more.

Very eerie as this book is fiction, however we all know these types of things happen. Althought I read the book I also listened to the audio tape which most of it is in a childs voice that made it even creepier.

didn't like itit was okliked itloved itit was amazing
Having previously read this author and not liked her writing style I was happly surprised at this third book I read by her. I feel she usually gives away so much so quick but in this book you can tell she took her time to weave an important story. This is one of those books that leaves you thinking about the reality of relationships between parents and children. Sometimes we are so busy telling them how much we know because we have already been there and dont realize that as teenagers they are trying to find themselves and that task is not an easy thing. Teenage Suicide is a really touchy subject because you always want to believe it wont happen to our children. This author touches to the heart and soul of that with a true message to parents not to just look away and say this to shall pass.

The Kite Runner is not just a book it is a true literary masterpiece of our generation. I was fortunate enough to come across this book in my mothers house and know that I am the fourth person in our family to read this. This is a book that should be handed down from generation to generation. Although a heart breaking story it is truly humbling vision of our own humanity. Everyone could truly learn alot from reading this book.

didn't like itit was okliked itloved itit was amazing
Giving Marquez another chance after reading One Hundred Years of Solitude was a great choice. Marquez is a great write and the only reason I gave him four stars was because I wish the protagonist would have shown some anger because of his initial unrequited love that burned for years while his life passed him by.
