I absolutely love the Detective Harry Bosch series. In Echo Park, Det. Harry has come out of retirement straight into cold case where he is working on an old case of his. With his new partner Kiz they uncover corruption among fellow officers and discover that a fellow who suddenly confesses to that long ago murder is doing a cover-up for one of their own....but how did the confessor know where the body had been buried? How did the confessor know all of the details? This book is one of those you read from start to finish with hardly a break. Captivating

I enjoyed the first story of this book. I didn't get into the second story, which is a short. The enjoyable is about a young runaway who has been oppressed by her older brothers who raised her. So she takes some clothes, gets in a rattletrap truck and starts out in search of a job and freedom. When her truck breaks down she is forced to take a ride with a passerby who helps her but doesn't seem too happy about it. He gives her a job and she stays at his house, bookeeping for his ranch. They fall in love but won't admit it. She becomes pregnant and he, being told before that he was sterile, becomes determined to keep away from the baby. But soon her brothers find her

A collection of short stories. Some are good. Some are confusing because of the abrupt endings.

He is a hit man. Then his "colleagues" start coming up murdered. The surviving friends he thought he could trust have turned against him. He starts to worry and suddenly finds himself not trusting anyone because he knows he will be next...if he doesn't figure out who killed his friends

A down on his luck Vietnam vet finds himself on the run after killing a loan manager set on repoing the only asset he has: his truck. Down to the swampland of southern Louisiana he goes with two oddball bounty hunters on his trail. A woman with half a face of portwine birthmark joins the vet and they travel in search of The Bright Girl, a "healer". A wrong turn for the bounty hunters land them in trouble with drug kings. The story is full of suspense and intrigue.
