Had much more to do with weight loss than I expected from his program on Oprah Radio. Still, I picked up some very good insights, as well as a good idea of how to rearrange my kitchen to make cooking more convenient and fun. One suggestion: Give up TV for a month! Can I do that? Hmmmmm.

Add Anne Proulx prose pretentions to an asinine post-apocalyptic plot and you get a book that I couldn't read beyond the prologue.

Whenever I feel "broke" I pull this back down from the shelf. The book always seems to change my perspective to the point where something miraculous happens.

I've read that Dickens acted out his books in readings. I think an actor's mind, as Dickens and Shakespeare, must be the explanation for the amazing variety of unique characters.
