I was excited to find out, Sarah had written another book. I had previously read her first book, "Garden Spells", which I loved. I give Garden Spells *****+Once again a fun and too quick (for me) read. Sarah books are considered, ~magical realism. I love her writtings and look forward to more books by her. |

Konnie posted a review at 2009-11-22 01:35:53 for Belong to Me: A Novel.
(Language: English)
Loved it. Although this book is a continuation of "Love Walked In", I didn't realize there had been a first book to this story, untill after reading Belong To Me. I didn't need to read the first book to understand the 2cd, although I liked Belong To Me so much, I will at some point, read Love Walked In. The story flows, is a feel good story, and she even adds a bit of science within it. I really enjoyed this book, once again staying up too late at night to read, but couldn't put it down.

(Language: English)
Really Loved this book too. After reading, I had a strong urge to start writing letters to my children about our lives, to leave behind. Didn't want to stop reading it, another ~keeping me up too late, and accomplishing little during the days I spent reading. The dishes can wait awhile to be washed... right?

Konnie posted a review at 2009-11-22 01:29:38 for Change of Heart.
(Language: English)
This was my first "Jodi Picoult" read. after having numerous customers recommend her to me, I read her newest book, Change Of Heart. Good read, although the subject matter was a little disturbing to me, as to the crime committed (allegedly) by the person on death row. Turns and twists, I liked the book. Another book that caused the matters of "housework" to sit by and wait.

I bought this book BEFORE Oprah talked about it, O.K. hee hee Another excellent spiritual self-help book, non religion specific. Good book for anyone one of any religion, or like me, some one on their own spiritual path. Love this book. Oh yeah... the E is pronounced in Tolle. Lol, had corrected people pronouncing it that way, only to watch an interview by him, and find out I was the one pronouncing it the wrong way! ha ha ha |

~ I can't stand it when a book isn't wrapped up in the end. I HATE to be left hanging. In my early 20's, I read "Eyes Of The Dragon", by Stephen King. (not one of his horror stories) (although, I swear it was under Richard Bachman's name at the time. My boyfriend of this era said it was another name Stephen used to write under... now I know they are 2 separate people) I couldn't put the book down. I loved it. I remember managers reminding me my break was over a few times... didn't want to stop reading it. (was working in a restaurant at the time) Anyway... As I read the last page, realizing that was it... I was pissed! It left me hanging! For years I looked for a sequel. I finally realized, no sequel... I'd been gypped. Never read another Stephen King novel, I've never recommended him either.

(Language: English)
Artemis as a dog-walker, Apollo as a TV psychic, Aphrodite as a phone sex operator, Dionysus as a DJ .... Being a Greek god is not all it once was. I really enjoyed this book, read it in a night and a half. Very irreverent, funny and in the end... makes one think.Hmmm... |
Konnie posted a review at 2009-10-13 10:02:29 for Witch & Wizard.
(Language: English)
I thought it was a great book. Rarely read any teen books, but when we received the "advanced reader in our book store was intrigued James Patterson had co-wrote a teen book. And.... the cover really grabbed my attention. Liked it so much, it's my book recommend for the month at the book store. Awesome book, well written & kept my interest during the whole book... ended up being one of those, couldn't put it down till I was done. (except when I got too tired and ha to sleep, but started it right back up the next day) I think it will appeal to both male & female... also another teen book that many other age groups will like. When done, my son's friend read it (13) I think, really liked it as well.

Really liking it so far. If you've read "The Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman, "Dance of The Four Winds" - "Island of The Sun" both by Alberto Villoldo, or "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield...and other similar books, you'll like this one.

Konnie posted a review at 2009-06-19 07:35:13 for Indigo Adults: Understanding Who You Are and What You Can Become.
(Language: English)
A lot of people by now, have heard a reference to "Indigo Children", actually Indigo Souls started incarnating around the 1700's in small numbers, during the beginning of the cusp of the Aquarian/Picean Ages meeting. "INDIGO" is used to describe those who's Aura is dominated mostly by the color Indigo, the color of the 6th Chakra, the Third Eye. There are many Adult Indigo's, whom don't know they are Indigo's, struggling with feelings of being different, feeling alone, separate or misunderstood. Their depth of feeling and thinking differs from those around them. They have powerful internal forces of energy, intelligence and are unusually sensitive. They feel limited and frustrated by what is considered the "normal world".

Found a new Author, when I found this book! The characters come alive in this book, as well as being transported to the location. Loved her writing style.About relationships between friends, lost love, gained love. Magical elements to the story, which I always like in a novel. All around great read. |

Amazing, informative, effects of hormone cycles in women's lives from birth to... the end of life. While I was reading this book, wished I'd had it while my daughters was going threw the teen years! I find it relevant to my life now, as well as relevant to the stages of development and behaviors in my Granddaughters... all under 3. Expansive information. |
Konnie posted a review at 2009-06-16 09:20:34 for Your Drug May Be Your Problem, Revised Edition: How and Why to Stop Taking Psychiatric Medications.
(Language: English)
amazing how so many of the drug prescribed to help/correct psychiatric disorders... also cause and create the symptoms they claim to treat/correct. The side effects alone, are so severe, if these were drugs on the market to treat "medical diseases", they would have been taken off the market a long time ago.Very interesting read |
Konnie posted a review at 2009-06-15 10:13:04 for Physick Book of Deliverance Dane, The.
(Language: English)
Loved it, couldn't put it down. Started reading late in the evening, read till I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore... woke up at 7am next day and started reading again. (thank goodness I had the day off!) Only stopped to shower, do the dishes and go to dinner. Finished it that night. I love a book that consumes me!

Konnie posted a review at 2009-06-15 10:08:54 for Pretty Is What Changes.
(Language: English)
Really good book. Well written, flows, informative, interesting. Although, I'd like to see the title changed to, "Pretty Is What Changes ~or so I thought." Wish I would have read the book *before* having my dbl mastectomy, I would have made a few different choices due to the information she shares in her book. Yes... still would have had the Mastectomy. Highly recommend this book to anyone recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and their family members. Extremely positive about the reconstruction results after a mastectomy. Great read, even if cancer isn't relevant to you.
