I have read several books by M Engle, and I would not classify her as just a children's writer. I think her books appeal to many adults as well. Her writing combines fantasy and science fiction with real life insights into people, personalities, culture, and science.

This is one of my favorite fantasy series. It is so well written, and the characters seem so real, that I get drawn into the story, and want to read more. There is a certain sadmess to it also, just like real life.

This book is entertaining, scary, and a well written fantasy about a world of magic and its hero Harry Pottert. It is easy to read but still witty and intelligent...and hard to put down.
