Frank McCourt was a wonderful storyteller. His first book was simply magic in its prose. Here was man who survived his tragic and impoverished childhood to become what he had always dreamed of becoming - a teacher who kind and not cruel and an author who was proud of his work, but encouraged others to follow their own literary aspirations. This is on my "must reread" list!
