iRead has the title of this Giller Prize-winner wrong, but in a way the mistake is significant, as the story seems to split in two halfway through, leaving us wondering what's become of Dido Paris as four other characters set out on their pilgrimage to the Barren Grounds. The loose ends take time to tie up, but Hay's writing is so beautiful and exact it's worth the investment of a few weeks' digestion.
