it's easy to see how cyberpunk was defined in this novel. It's low, trippy, trashy, and just plain REAL, in a surreal sense. The preception of the Matrix depicted in this book is still left up to the imagination of the reader, and some things in the book, actions and details of environment or people, are so in-depth you kinda get lost in them. If you're looking for an escape from reality that will make you run away crying and clawing out the 'trodes from your 'nodes, and come back for more, then give this book a try.
