I picked up this collection after watching TNT's miniseries by the same name. While this collection contains only some of the stories from the TV series, it contains some outstanding stories that could not be adapted for television. The upside to a collection of stories that range almost 800 pages is you can see the breath of King's writing style; everything from gore and terror to a good psychological drama. Additionally, the last story is nonfiction and an excellent read; you may be tempted to skim it after reading 19 fictional stories, but it is worth the patience.
