These books are true fun, even if the terminology of sailing tall ships leaves you not knowing what the hell is going on half the time... O'Brian is a pure writer and has a sense of humor. Well worth the six months or so it takes to get through these brutes. I had to order them by Amazon, so it took me about two years, if you are near a decent library, do it that way...These are a must read for anyone who likes English Imperial History. Great Characters, relatively true to historical events, hundreds of people living and working together on small weevil infested British sailing vessels (by which England controled the waves...)
