I'm pretty sure that there are many people out there who use sparknotes to get through it but then why read literature if you're using that bullcrap. Literature is meant to be taken the way it is, and this is its epitome. Dumas (pere) has presented a story of revenge that strikes so close to the heart I couldn't put it down. The movie does not do justice to the immense pains and the journey that Dantes goes through. Definitely my favorite and there is nothing more to say.
