This lucid and erudite work might not seem exceptional to someone who's not neck-deep in the Israeli-Arabic conflict. But to an Israeli reader, or even a sympathetic Jewish reader, "The Iron Wall" will probably come across as a harsh, at times provocative, rewriting of Israeli history. Ironically, that is exactly what makes this book such an eye-opener.
