This is an interesting book. It's a tie-in to the upcoming videogame, which normally would not recommend it, but for the fact that Star Wars videogame tie-ins have been the best installments of the series for the past several years. Republic Commando, anyone? Nonetheless, this is not written by Karen Traviss (sad to say), and so I was unsure. But it was good.
The setting is c.3500 BBY, and the Sith Empire is locked in a cold war with the Republic. The war has only recently gone cold, as evinced by the ruins of the Jedi Temple and destruction on Coruscant from the Sith invasion. Into this climate comes an odd offer: a piece of information that could tip the balance one way or the other in this suppressed conflict, and possibly alter the fate of the galaxy. In fact, unthinkable alliances may have to be considered in the face of a greater threat.....
