When I first tried to read this, I found Isabel Dalhousie more like a 65 year old than a forty-something year old and as a result, I felt frustrated with the unrealistic voice. However, I ended up with it as an audio book and really came round to her. I've now just finished reading the second in the series and am enjoying it immensely. Not as involved as I was with the 44 Scotland St series but it's a great read when you need a gentle break in between deeper novels.
