Although it has an unusual plot, I loved this book. The narration, the metaphors, the weird realitic but somehow unrealistic characters. Very interesting view of finding different selves to acquire the "real" self. And that is what Otaka Toru has to do in a world borders reality and unreality; find his wife's "real" self and bring her back. I thought that by the end, Murakami would have left the strings loose because everything was tangled up, but he managed to tie most of the strings.
