A difficult read actually! The dialect made me have to slow down and actually FOCUS on every word (versus my predictions in my mind of what will happen next).

Endearing story of a woman who lives her life as expected, until she finds real love. Hard not to love a book that is summarized (for me) in the last chapter by the primary character.

Janie says: "...you got tuh go there tuh know there. Yo' papa and yo' mama and nobody else can't tell yuh and show yuh. Two things eveybody's got tuh do fuh theyselves. They got tuh go tuh God, and they got tuf find out about livin' fuh theyselves."

Beautiful.....
