Not nearly as good as The Other Boleyn Girl and I found it quite repetitive. It's still a compelling story though.

I really enjoyed Philipa's portrayal of Jane (Parker) Boleyn; I doubt she was actually crazy but she was certainly an interesting supporting player in Henry's court.

Good companion to The Other Boleyn Girl. Fast read. Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard played smaller roles in the Tudor saga, so the plot is quite simple. By alternating the pov's of Jane Boleyn, Katherine and Anne from chapter to chapter moved the plot along well and the narrative more interesting.

Not as good as its preceeding sister book. I did however love the contrast between the two Anne's rather than focussing on the story of the Boleyn sisters. Great author...and great read.

This book had a bit of a different style for Gregory in that it wasn't about one person in particular. In fact it had three main characters and each chapter took on the voice of one of the three women. I liked this new format in that it gave the reader several different perspectives from which to view the same incidents. Having said that, I didn't love the book. I enjoyed it certainly, but it wasn't one of my favorites. I think that because so little is known of Anne of Cleves and Katharine Howard, Gregory didn't have the same kind of material to sink her teeth into. A lot of it felt like filler to me. It's not a bad little read, so if you like her stuff give it a shot. But don't expect this one to enthrall you like the Other Boleyn Girl.

once again phillipa gregory brings the tudor era to life in a vibrant historical novel of the story behind the 3 women at the centre of a Henry Tudor court.

It was good, but not as juicy as The Other Boleyn Girl. It was interesting to know the rest of the history about King Henry....and his many wives. Love it so far!

The other Boleyn Girl was so good that half way through it I went and bought the next book. I started reading it today and hate to put it down. I will read this one in no time and move on to the next one. The Tudors have a definate place on my bookshelf.

pretty book on the outside...bit of crazy king gore on the inside.im up to date on my 'english torture techniques' without ever having intention to be.and apart from that.. i liked it.
