a funny book. but inspite of all you can feel the emotions the main character is feeling. sad situations are painted in bright colours. enjoyed reading the epilogue loads :)

Absolutely loved this book. Was the first one of Marian Keyes that I read - and keep on going back and re-reading it - enjoyed soo much. Great characters to enjoy and relate to - fantastic story. Great book.

I always love Marian Keyes books and this is no exception. Although they can be fairly predictable, its great escapism and I just thoroughly enjoyed reading about Lucy and her friends, and how she finally got to her man, he best friend.

I was in bed sick several weeks ago and decided to read a book, something I hadn't really done in a while. I wanted something that was a) not too challenging, and b) already in the room because I didn't have the energy to go downstairs to the library. My wife had read this book, so it was right there. I haven't read much "chick lit"; if this is a fair example I'm pretty amused. The female characters all go all drinking every night and hook up with guys they meet and parties on the weekends - in other words, they seem to behave like male fantasies of how single women in their 20s behave.Partway in, I thought the plot was fairly predictable. Then I learned that I am clearly not familiar with a central convention of the genre, namely the happy ending. Once recalibrated, I'd still have to say the ending is predicable. Overall, fairly amusing.

I didn't like this book at all. I thought maybe I was having trouble getting into it...but 100 pages in, I was still bored out of my mind. I didn't bother reading any more. Disappointed..I have liked most of Marian Keyes' books.

I found this book to be very enjoyable easy to read def a summer read I guessed the ending but I didn't mind that as by the end your hoping it's going to work out right for Lucy.

It's the first book that I read by Marian Keyes. Good description of characters and situations. A thick book but an enjoyable reading. It made me laugh. Story about the life of Lucy and her friends. She went with her workmates to a fortune teller who predicted for her that she was going to be married soon. She doesn't believe her, since she hasn't even got a boyfriend. This will soon change but ... hey you have to read the book ;-)

This book lasted longer than most marriages! She could have gotten married in the first 100 pages, not the 656th!

Lucy Sullivan is getting married, is a great book! I wouldn't say it's realy funny, but some patrs made me laugh out loud. I had never read a Marian Keys book before, and this book has made me like this Auther.

one of my favourites, i saw the english television series with gerad butler years ago and when i found out it was a book i rushed out and got it. i think it helped that i had a firm idea of who the characters were from the show so it was easier to like them. Lucy is a bit dumb, but aren't we all at times? I liked that it was predictable.. all ends the way we want it to which is a comfort. i hate reaing book where the ending is a let down.

This is the only book by Marian Keyes that I enjoyed. I don't care that it was a sort of predictable ending...i.e. it was kind of obvious that Lucy would end up with Daniel (although I'm glad she did because he was the better man). However, I actually thought it would end with the two of them getting married. And I'm glad it didn't, because otherwise that would have been too predictable. What I also liked about this book was that you really got to know the main character, Lucy through the first person narative and you really end up going through the stuff she went through with her. I've lost count of the number of times I felt like yelling at her and thinking "what the hell is she doing?!?" Especially when it came to her relationship with Gus and her father. I was pleased she ended up with Daniel, he was the better guy and I did like his character. Overall it was a good read and I'm glad Lucy got her happy ending!
