I think it is such a blessing for us to be able to read what C.S.Lewis has to say about both the world and the world beyond.You see, the whole idea of Christianity, the afterlife, God sacrificing his Son, etc.. they are all really difficult to grasp, especially for non-belivers. Lewis managed to break in down into a simple picture. Within Mere Christianity, there are 4 volumes (4 books) which are dedicated to different topics. Essentially, we are able to be addressed on all levels. Human beings generally need reasoning to be convinced and Lewis has done a perfect job. You need to have a first hand experience in reading this book as well as have a first hand experience with God. I especially like the 1st volume and also the 2nd last chapter of the 4th volume. 5 stars from me.

This is a fundamental reading. It begins from an atheistic point of view. Building the case from a moral law for indicating something beyond ours as a source of the moral law that make us feel ought to do something right despite our insticts (one more point that a moral law is something different than our instincts because it is something that judges whether our instincts good or bad morally). From there point to, if good and evil balance each other, then we are wrethched cause there is no point in striving to do good in the long run. But if there is absolute goodness and evil is just an absence of goodnes, then we are wretched also, since we fail to do good in every day of our lives and make oursevels an enemy to The Absolute Goodness. We need help, scratch that, we need Saviour.

The classic apologetic for the Christian faith. Very well written. No Bible-thumping or brow-beating for believing something else. Just an in-depth look at why he believes what he believes.

One of the best books of theology I've ever read. A most enlightening de-construction of the Christian faith to its most basic tenets. A great read whose case is made all the better through cool logic, rather than the fluffy sentimentality of other introductions to the faith.

great book, I feel like I need to read it all over again, lots to absorb. First book is pretty deep, keep going, don't stop if you don't like the beginning.
