A fantastic and excellent apology for belief in supernaturalism and, more specifically, the divinity and acts of the God of Israel. Lewis confronts a skeptical and naturalistic world with excellent arguments demonstrating how there is more to the universe than what is perceptible on the natural plane, defining miracles and how miracles truly work, demolishing Hume's argument from probability, and providing robust defenses for the Incarnation, Resurrection, and Jesus' miracle-working powers. A most excellent book to encourage the believer and challenge the skeptic.

You gotta read it R E A L S L O W and think a lot about it! Lewis' philosophy is very deep!

Lewis understands well, as always, that you must define your terms before any meaningful discussion can take place. As with all great things, the more one invest in this work the more you will walk away with.

Lewis hammers Hume's empiricism and naturalism. A must read for people who enjoy worldviews/philosophy.

C.S. Lewis don’t make no junk, but this is not one of his best works. I felt that a few of his philosophical leaps were a little reckless, and he was not quite as thorough as he usually is about these things. The book is made to be an examination into the philosophical probability of miracles, ignoring the historical evidence. It did provide a few excellent insights and observations, such as the idea that man’s rationality is proof of a spirit/animal dichotomy.

It's interesting, I'm not too far yet since I tend to read it in the evening and at that point the thinking is generally a bit beyond my tired brain, so I find myself re-reading some particularly difficult sentence until the repetitiveness sends me to sleep. It is neat though and I am hoping to make a bit more progress, if nothing else 5 stars for a non-habit forming sleep aid!

Excellent! Exposes the roots of the naturalism and supernatural and sets up an argument that one rationally can't overlook. Can get dense at times, but worth it
