Unless the reader has the same "little grey cells" as Poirot, they will most likely never guess who the murderer is like in the rest of Agatha's stories. If your a mystery fan, this book will hopefully keep you reading till the end. I have to say, this is my favorite one of Agatha's stories that i've read so far.

The first Agatha Christie book I've read. Really good. Easy to read. Would recommend it. More Agatha Christie please :)

Fascinating, with so little to go on to solve, with many misdirecting clues and hints manufactured to throw the detective off.

Our nanny in England had read all of Agatha Christie's books. She loved them. I, however, had never read any. I learned that Ms. Chrisite's books have been read more than any other aside from the Bible and Shakespeare. I decided it was time to change the fact that I'd never read any of her books. Murder on the Orient Express. The title made is sound interesting to me. We did a lot of travel in Europe. We never had the chance to travel overnight by train although we did travel by ferry and hhad berths on the ferries. I was certain I could visualize the book well enough to enjoy reading it. Poirot is the thinking man's man. He thinks outside the box. My kids and I enjoy watching Monk and Psych. The mysteries on those shows tend to be solved in such a way that they are not easily unraveled by jus anyone; of course, if they could be, they wouldn't be very mysterious, would they? There were certainly a large numbers of characters integral to this story. Ms. Christie did a good job of helping the reader distinguish each character though. She also managed to keep the story moving pretty well. She drew me in. I liked the fact that the murder was solved by wit alone. The train was stranded in a snowdrift, set many years ago. There was no way to communicate with the outside world.

The novel is of course brilliant, but especially, the performance by David Suchet leaves nothing wanting. I also suggest "Death on the Nile," and "The Mysterious Affair at Styles."

Génial! La traduction rend bien le niveau de language "à l'anglaise". L'intrigue est totale jusqu'au bon vouloir de Poirot-Christie de nous dévoiler une finale haute en couleurs

One of the most beutifully intricate books I've ever read. The train load of people all intertwine together perfectlly in s one of the most compelling books Agatha ever gifted us with!

I never got into Agatha Christie but I should have. Every book I read of hers I liked. MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS was my favorite. Made into a terrific movie in 1974 directed by Sydney Lumet and starring Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall, Jacqueline Bisset, Sean Connery, Tony Perkins and Michael York.

This was one of my first A.C.s so it has some sentimental value to me. I am also very fond of the Orient Express, probably because of this book :-D It feels so special, some how. :-D I like the story too... the killer was a surprise to me and the motif, and I liked also the way how it all solved out in the end :-)

re-read it in order to watch the movie, and It happened to be on my 100 must read list. Cannot go wrong with a Christie mystery, and this is def one of the more complex plots, yet still very quick read.

This is perhaps the most famous of Hercule Poirot's adventures. On a journey on the luxury train, a passenger is killed and with the train stuck in a snowdrift, Poirot is called in to help identify the killer. A surfeit of clues is set to confuse the investigation. The direction the plot is taking becomes obvious rather earlier than many Poirot novels, but it remains an entertaining read. The way in which the dilemma at the end is dealt with is quite neat, and an interesting contrast with the approach of Lord Peter Wimsey.
