Rincewind is one of my least favorite Pratchett characters, but the book still stands as a classic Pratchett satire.

The first Terry Pratchett novel I ever read. Had me hooked from the very start. I love Terry's sense of humour and his added footnotes throughout the book. So funny! He has a great imagination. I just love his trunk with a hundred legs.... His books should be read by everyone, who seeks to enjoy their reading time.

And therefore education at the University mostly worked by the age-old method of putting a lot of young people in the vicinity of a lot of books and hoping that something would pass from one to the other,while the actual young people put themselves in the vicinity of inns and taverns for exactly the same reason.

Can't bash The Terry. He's one of the best authors in the world in my opinion. Love him and love all his books!

I have to admin that I'm not a big fan of Rincewind, and as his character progresses I'm even less so. Originally, I felt he ran away because he had to, whereas now he does it regardless.Still, this book is much much better than Erik. Cohen the barbarian and his elderly barbarian cohorts are wonderful characters, and it's nice to see Twoflower again - even if the meeting between him and Rincewind is a bit dull, considering everything they have gone through together.The subplot of wizards could have been done away with entirely.
