This is one of those books you have to re-read every few years. Incredibly imaginative. The story has inspired me in countless projects.

Beautifully written fantasy suspense novel ... I absolutely love this book! I've read it numerous times and now that I see there's a second book, I'll read it again!!

This is one of my all time favourite books- Clive Barker is the perfect bridge between fiction and fantasy( I understand they call it Dark Fantasy)He has a uniquely skewed, albeit perceptive, view of the human condition. The book has elements of horror to keep the King fans happy, but with a lyricism in his prose that I find quite evocative.

very close to being a Barker classic, this fantasy story drags you kicking and screaming into a world where magic is the norm and dark creatures and gods are but a step away. A fantasy, a love story and a battle to reconcile worlds and relationships. Nothing is as it seems and everything should be questioned. Fantastic.
