couldn't even finish the book, I was bored out of my head, honestly SO many contradictions, the auther tries to have us hooked on the relationship between bianca and lucas,but seriously?! what is so magical there? and the fact that the auther keeps giving us the mpression that Bianca was less than ordinary in EVERYTHING didn't help either, for instance Bella in Twilight was ordinary but her appeal was in so many other aspects such as her sense of responsibility. the dialog was not impressive as well, the story line is so slow. all in all.. not my cup of tea. saving the fact that I just finished Vampire academy series, and God there is no comparison here!

Not impressed. Can't compare to Twilight. Did not feel the undying love between Lucas and Erica. Very disappointed how it was made out that Erica had no idea of her surroundings when really she knew all along. Was ready to give up half way through, but since I had bought it, I had to finish and was hoping it would get better. But no.... The second book is better, but still you can't compare this too Twilight. The ONLY similarity is that there are vampires in both books. That's it.Not very impressed. Can't compare to Twilight. Just didn't feel the same deep undying love. And was very disappointed that it was all made out that she had no idea of her surroundings when she knew the entire time! Was ready to put the book away after half way through, but decided to stick it out since I had bought it, and have the second to go with it.

I kind of liked this book. I like how Claudia Gray made the illusion of Bianca as a human, I mean, her life so far was rellaaaaazzedddd, but when she bit Lucas (which was very weird and funny) I was like O.o. She was a vampire all along!!! And she distinguished her characters fairly good. I like Balthazar and Vic better than Lucas xD. But I didn't really like the plot, it was kind of original. And I'm not sure of how she writes either. It was a good book, but I wouldn't read it again:P

Okay so I really liked the fact that for once the vampire isn't the guy! Also I liked how they revealed who the vampire is in the middle of the story, so you're like wondering if its the girl or the guy who is in danger. Turns out they are both a danger to each other. Talk about forbidden love. Will you love the person you were meant to kill? Will you kiss the lips of the one who is destined to kill you? I'd definitely recommend this to everybody!

I must say that I absolutely adored this book. It was the first book where I actually could relate to the main character. Me and Bianca are very similar so it was nice reading something and then picturing me in that situation. Anyways the book was amazing and I would definitely would recommend it. It isn't the fastest book *in my opinion* but it isn't boring either. I must also applaud Claudia Gray for making some fantastic plot twists. Sadly I read some parts ahead so I kind of realized them before I read the book. It was a bit disappointing but It made me look at her writer more carefully while reading. It was seriously well done and written. It's fabulous work for a debut in my opinion. Of course not all the subjects are covered in the first book, but I bet they'll continue in the second book: "Stargazer" which I'm excited and looking forward to reading. I don't have any complaints about this story. It was well written, great plot twists, not boring, and had some great,funny dialogue. The only thing I would ever think of suggesting is making the chapters a bit shorter. I hate reading long chapters, but that's just my thought. Anyways I hope you enjoyed my latest review and you'll go read this amazing book by Claudia Gray.

This story starts out weird and you think its pretty normal.but after reading you get sucked into the book,you want to know what will happen with lucas and bianca why are they starcrossed lovers? Then you get to where they kiss and its so surprising and unexpected.There are so many twist and turns with a whole lot of suspense that it kept me reading for a whole day trying to find out more.This is way better than twilight its not as sappy they both have secrets to keep and people to look out for

I can't say that I really enjoyed this book all that much. It seemed to drag on with the same plot as the second book, Stargazer. Really, it just seemed like a waste of time. The characters don't really seem to grow at all either. Spoilers ahead! The ending was just awful. Maybe that's because I was really hoping that this story would be over after the third one. But it really seems like it could have been wrapped up by now. By turning Bianca into a ghost (wraith, whatever), there is more plot possibilities. However, it seems like it will take a lot more bad books to get down to it. I don't think that I'll be reading the next book. Maybe if I have a lot of spare time and I find it in a bargin bin for a dollar. Since that doesn't seem likely, I think I'm going to let this series sit for a while.

Such a GREAT series, I love that you don't know what it's about until half way through the book. Had I known, I wouldn't have bought it. A must read series for anyone that loves action and romance!

Great book. Nothing like i expected going into it. I really figured it would be just another young adult vampire book, but i have to admit that i am hooked. I can not wait for the third book to come out. While it is YA there are a few moments that still make your heart race a bit. :)

I would say "Evernight" is just okay. The first half of the book all you can think about is the fact that it reads like a "Twilight" rip-off and you're a bit shocked that it didn't get flagged for excessive paraphrasing. After that though, it has a pretty good twist and the story takes off a little. I would have liked it a lot more if the big shockers were in the beginning of the book so that the story could progress from there instead of having to wade through 200 pages to get to the excitement, only to have to wait for a sequel. I can't decide if I'll read the second book or not; the writing style isn't that impressive and Gray takes ages to get to the point. As a final note, I'll say that I never would have finished this if I hadn't been told what the big twists were - then I became interested in the characters and what it would take to get them there.

It's a great read. Like a Romeo and Juliet love story with vampires. Definitely not meant to be compared to the epic love story of Bella and Edward but still a great story. I read reviews where people compared this to Twilight and that just isn't the way to do it. Every story has it's own magic and I really did enjoy this one. Hope the second one gets delivered tomorrow.

So this book was kind of cool because there were twists you didn't see coming, but it was kind of boring. I NEVER got into it. I didn't feel the chemistry between the two and actually wanted Bianca with a different guy. That was probably the most disappointing. I don't think I will be reading the rest of the series... I'm just not interested.

you have no idea until halfway through the book what is REALLY going on. Its a great read!It grabs you with a great storyline and just pulls you along. Very well-written, great characters, and story development.It leaves you with this breathtaking romance of star-crossed lovers that is so similar to Romeo & Juliet, but more deadly. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next one!

This book is filled with intrigue, love, (of course) vampires, good and evil, and some amazing plot twists. Most books I can see the twist coming, and then I am mad that I ruined the book. These ones though, wow! There is some romance, but not too much skin. I still could rate this at least PG12. Hardly any language. Good read.

By far my biggest complaint is the 'big twist' the comes about a third of the way into the book. There was no lead-up to it, no warning, no hints of a secret being kept - NOTHING. All of the sudden I felt like I was reading an entirely different book. :/ Secondly... when did people stop FINISHING their damned books? I'm all for sequels and whatnot but COME ON, at least give us some semblance of closure before it just cuts off. I don't appreciate having to pay for two books and feel like I'm only getting one story. Other than that, I liked it. ^^;

I am not someone who is going to just give a book a bad rating for no reason. However, this book just wasn't good at all. The premise of the book is like a lot of other vampire books out there. Bianca doesn't fit in with the more beautiful (and sun intolerant) students and scarily Gothic Evernight Academy. You are thinking the obvious answer: she's a human in a vampire school. Wrong. (Spoilers ahead) For the first portion of the book, excluding the prologue, there is no mention of the word vampire. Then, out of nowhere, Bianca is suddenly the child vampires. She's been a vampire all her life, a fact which the author neglects to mention. I think that if you drank bottles of animal blood as a child, that's something that would come up a little sooner in the book. The characters are also kind of stereotypical. Bianca, although she is also a vampire, doesn't fit in with her classmates. She not pretty, or graceful, or anything else that vampires should be. Feel sorry for poor Bianca. Lucas is your typical, handsome, but brooding, lead male. The fact that he was a vampire hunter will come as no surprise if you pay at least minimal attention to the book. There's also Bianca's vampire parents, eternally youthful, beautiful, and in love. Let's not forget of the smattering of vindictive vampires who are mean to Bianca. Although I enjoy vampire novels for the most part, I just couldn't get into this one. The author overuses vampire cliches, and makes it seem like a parody of a vampire novel. If you're an absolute, die-hard, fan of vampire novels, read it. You might like it, you might not. I, personally, will not be reading the second book.
