GREAT book about mothers! Mothering from every angle -- birth mothers, adoptive mothers, fathers who mother. So many mother angles coming together to make a difference in the life of a girl.

Ann Patchett is a master. In an interview she said that the book is about politics, but I agreed with the interviewer, that it is about family with politics being a thread connecting the tale, as well as class and race. As with Bel Canto, the characterization is superb. Wonderful!

A lovely book. Not much action, but a gentle story about love, family, friendship and what's important in life.

It was okay… just kind of there. Not a really big climax or some amazing thing never happened. Just a good book to read and go hmmm and then move on with your life.

It is not surprising that Ann Patchett is a literary award winner. Run is extraordinarily well written with deep character development. It barely left my hands but some may find it difficult to look past the politically driven themes.

A good story, although a bit predictable. Even though the story is mostly about Teddy and Tip, I felt more connected to Sullivan. I liked that except for the first chapter and the last chapter, the story takes place during one day. I would probably read more by Ann Patchett.
