I struggled with this book. I found it quite preachy in style and could not empathise with the characters. It could be due to the fact that the spiritual path and tradition portrayed is one I do not personally relate to but I believe written in a different way it would have held my interest more. I continued to read it to the end due to some interesting insights discussed in the story. I just feel this has been written with more imagination and inspiration by other authors. I enjoyed the practices and would be intrigued to see if anyone has used these to enhance their own journey. I found it mildly irritating how they were place within the story mid sentence. A friend said this was not the best example of this author and has recommended the Alchemist so I'll try it.

A very inspiring book, which changed my view in many topics, especially religion. Very beautiful writing, as expected from Paolo. Probably my second favourite book of this author. Highly recommended.

the part i like the most in that book is when they talked about " dreams" i kept crying the whole night when i read that part. it really moved me so much because it reminded me of all the dreams i abandoned, the goals i gave up about. It made me realize that not necessarily when we are getting older, means that we are becoming more wise, not at all, especially if we abandoned our dreams and bluffing ourselves saying that we're happy and that goal was stupid. No,It's not! I'll keep pursuing my goals from now on !
