As a teacher, I highly reccomend that all parents either read this book to their children, or have their children read it on their own. It is a truly wonderful book, and if nothing else, teaches children to use their imagination. With this gift, new worlds are opened every day. Fantastic book! All elementary age kids should be required to read this. When I taught fourth grade, I read it to my class, and they loved it.

So great! Perfect for kids who have lost someone special and need to know there are others out there who feel the same. Great way to help kids understand death, why people do the things they do and besides all that, just a lot of fun to read!

Its simple story about a girl & boy who are the best friends and don't care what other people think about them. A quick read with a very tragic ending.

I did not like this book as much as some other books by that author. This one is just so sad. But it is very well written. This is a classic and a must-read.

I needed a box of tissues after reading this. I was only about 8 years old when I read it for the first time.
