Ok, this book made me mad! I threw it on the floor (jut to pick it up rigth after) and wanted to scream. That's way it's my favorite! Lemony means what he says.

Book seven in the series of unfortunate events. Continues the story of the Baudelaire orphans with hilarious consequences.

The man with the smoke around his face irritated me. I can't seem to understand why all the grown ups are so SIMPLE. I mean, come ON!! What dramatic irony that no one but the Baudelaire siblings EVER notice it's Count Olaf. Maybe Lemony's trying to tell us something about our mother-generation...

In this volume, the Baudelaires are off to an incredibly strange village infested by crows, to allow Snicket to intelligently and sarcastically make fun of the concept of "it takes a village to raise a child". He explores interesting concepts in this one, including mob mentality akin to the Salem trials. Another delightful book.

Love this series. Some messages in this book are vital for kids...basically, education can save your life! And adults can sometimes be too scared to confront reality!

I read all of The Lemony Snicket books with my twin daughters. Now they are 18, but I read the books nonetheless. Though I can't seem to recall what each book is off of the top of my head. I doubt if even reading the title would help, I'd have to flip through the pages *sigh*

Now here in this book is some of the emotion for which we have been waiting! Snicket takes a clever and hilarious spin on that old adage of "It's take a village to raise a child" in an freakishy bizarre social experiment that grants us an exciting world of scary birds and flying machines. The book is both sister and quirky, far more than usual, and shows a definite growth in plot and storytelling. We have rich, exciting characters and palpable emotion that becomes most evident in the book's closing chapter.

Another mysterious, wonderful book by Lemony Snicket. If you have read the books before it in the series, then you will soon realize that this one in particular reveals many things about some of the characters.

liked this series..read it when my granbaby was in i.c.u. small to fit into pocket..and made me smile at times when i need it..and i think my granson liked me reading them to him..even if he was a baby..can't wait to read them to all my grandkids...i want to buy the series to keep in my little library at home..so i can share them with all my grandbabies..and hoply give them the love of reading like my mom did..

Though this book is definitely not one of my favorites that Lemony Snicket has written, it still can pull you in. This book has a rickety beginning and doesn't get that much better. To understand the series and to find out things about someone who you might have been wondering about you have to read this.
