I was given this book by one of my best friends a couple of years ago. He was driving from CA back to Vermont. I never heard of the book when he gave it to me. Three years later I pick the book up and really love it. It's such a humbling book, Kerouac makes it seem very possible to travel across the country. He manages to do it more than once which makes for plenty of stories. I was really impressed with how detailed each paragraph is. For being a small book it took me about three weeks to finish. It's hard to review this book because it really speaks for itself. Free spirits must read!

One of the best american beat generation novels by a fantastic writer. Also read big sur,dharma bums.doctor sax and kerouacs mexico city blues poetry all top class.
