One of the great books by Sunil that proves him as a leading writer after 80s. I felt like I am walking beside the historical characters that made Bengali a strong language.
I finished Sei Somoy by Sunil Gangopdhyay yesterday reading after one and half months in weekdays at BART train from east bay to San Francisco every morning and evening. It's an amazing book in every count.I was moved by the historical characters depicted in this book, and in such a simple yet attractive manner. Amongst all, I liked Michael Madhusudan Dutt and Bindubashini. I have read lot of wikipedia entries while reading this book and was surprised more and more I read. This is truly a masterpiece. You can buy the English translation from Amazon. Here is a nice review of the book - http://desicritics.org/2008/02/08/110402.php.
