Although I was told that this book was rubbish (by Mick - my twin) I found it one of the most entralling novels I have ever read.A book that aptly portrayed the savergery that is held at bay by the socialization process.

Interesting comparison with "We Need to Talk about Kevin" - how both books make us think about our reactions to the violence of children and teenagers; what keeps youngsters behaviour normally, within the bounds of societies' norms and standards and the effects of peer group pressure.

I read this book at school, of course. Although the way it is written is good and the story powerful... I just see it as yet more proof that human beings, in general, are just horrible!

I found this book quite terrifying, and I found it massively psychological. Definitely a page- turner!!! Not quite finished this yet but havebeen thoroughly freaked out by it thus far. The sow execution is not for the faint hearted (or the vegetarian)!!!

Muy buen libro, nos muestra hasta donde una pequeña sociedad sin control puede llegar, me vi también la película y me parece que el libro habría cerrado con broche de oro si hubiera tenido el mismo fin de la película.
