It's an ok book, and it's nice to see where the various characters end up, but some are dealt with rather harshly. The idea that ___ is better off *dying* than attempting to win ___'s heart is snobbish to an extreme that I didn't expect from Ms. Alcott.

I liked it, but the 'continuing story' books are always disappointing, because characters are never supposed to grow up and get old. It always makes me sad.

Not as fantastic as Little Women, but Alcott admits this herself. It is good, though, to see Jo and her sisters later in life, and find out what happens to the boys from her school.

I enjoyed seeing how the boys all turned out. It is a good lesson and example about the different choices we all have to make as we mature and take on adulthood.

A kind of disappointing wrap-up to the series. There are two reasons for this-- one, Alcott tells us the lives of the characters we care least about, and second, that the plot just isn't that interesting. After all, who wants to hear about Josie when what we really want is to find out whether Laurie and Amy get divorced!! (Joking... joking...) Usually Alcott's little tales are amusing, but this time, the moral underlinings seem too pronounced. Instead of enjoying it while you read it, I felt like it was a sermon. Perhaps it's because the characters weren't extremely rounded either. I dunno. But read it if you're a Little Women fan, because there are still some sweet and nice moments (Jo and her autographs, Teddy just being Teddy, and Josie's acting career). Just didn't quite match up to the other two.

Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy and Good Wives (together known as Little Women) set the stage, Little Men brought a welcome continuation, and Jo's Boys brings a satisfying end to the March family saga.

A good book, although not as good as the first three. You get the feeling LM Alcott is trying to tie everything up in neat little bows. A lot of predjudice comes out in the characters, which doesn't fit in with the other books. Still, a good read and a good way to finish the series.

I like that the boys are older. You get to see how they have matured. I like the lesson that we have to take responsibility for the choices we make

Great read if you are into classics. Though i think girls would find it easier to relate to. It's one of those touching and beautiful stories that move you to tears. Not as good as its prequel, Good wives...but it works.

A nice follow-up to Little Women. Instead of focusing directly on the characters we came to love, Alcott introduces new and sometimes good characters as well. I appreciated shift and made it a book on its own instead of just being a "sequel to Little Women", and I thought she balanced the old and new characters well. Occasionally I would have liked to see more of Meg and Marmee, but Jo and Laurie have some nice scenes together. The moral tone is also kicked up a notch, with every character pretty much stressing the importance of being good. Some chapters bring back the joy and magic of Little Women's small little "episodes", especially Patty Pans and the part with the boys ruining the girls' party. It doesn't moralize overly, and makes you laugh while including old characters and as well as making the new ones grow dearer. Overall, not as good as Little Women, but certainly worth a read. Think of it less of a sequel, but more of a book with a few characters from Little Women.
