I loved this translation again. Fagles is a masterful translator changing ancient Greek texts into beautiful and poetic yet understandable English.

Bit of a book to tackle.... but that classical literature for you...if you can stomach this type of book go for it.....

Read this for the first time last summer. I wanted to read a book series by Dan Simmons that referenced the Iliad & the Odyssey a lot. Once I got used to the style of writing it became a fun read. I keep a copy in the magazine rack in the half bath. I can see why this story has been around for thousands of years

A bloody, violent war book. I prefered this to the Odyssey as was so much more epic and dramatic.
