i bought this book in hopes to better understand why plato is reveared as one of the greats what im finding out is a whole other story about boy loving and quite honest i will finish it only because of history leason that is included that is very interesting the part about the woman the man and when they were both attached in ancient times

It is quite interesting and if you're a romantic, the speeches in this book may cause you to rethink your notions of LOVE

In this unique drinking party (no flute girl or much drinking till the end) we find some interesting takes on "LOVE". From this it is my take that Plato views "LOVE" in a different light than what is commonly thought of in ancient Greece. However, one unique point stands, the physical is not the highest form of "LOVE" but, instead, the relationship between mentor and pupil is purest. A difficult read, not in language, but in idea.
