This novel has to be my favorite of Sarah Dessen's work. It's cute and witty. But it also just has a cute story. It's definitely worth the buy!

Very similar to The Truth About Forever, girl who's quiet and unsure of herself, grows during the summer while she works at a food-industry place and falls in love with a co-worker, who is an artist. However, I very much enjoyed it. I connected to her main character, and the battle that her and her family members deal with weight/perceptions of others linked with it. There were deep insights and poetic parts that never seemed forced, but were always honest and seemed to belong. The effortlessness of her work, shows me just how much effort she puts into her work. Read this when you are feeling down, feeling romantic, feeling empowered, or in need of empowering. It's more than just chick-lit.

it was the first Sarah Dessen book that I've read, that the boy was a surprise. I never saw it coming, and I liked that. It was pretty unpredictable. i liked that the outgoing characters were viewed from the outside. there were so many great elements. I like how Colie viewed everyone from the outside. there was nobody she was truly open with, not until the very end, and I loved that. :)

A story of the one girl's rather fragmented journey to personal empowerment. One of the things I like the most about Sarah Dessen is her ability to bring to life quirky characters that make you realize the value of every single person.

Wonderful book! Gave me a new love for sunglasses, hot chocolate, and quirky friends. Good book to read in the summer or if you're wishing for it. Every one is unique.
