I loved this book. Lots of foul language, so beware, if you dislike obscenities. I totally related to Bridget, who painstakingly kept track of her diet, cigarettes, alcohol, etc., but never quite lived up to her noble desires. I don't drink or smoke, but I know what it's like to plan to exercise but never do, etc. And Bridget can be very socially inept, something I relate to.

It's not so engaging from the very start because of the diary-entry language, but it engaged me and I couldn't put it down near the end.

I really enjoyed reading this book as it ran smoothly and was very enjoyable to read about Bridget. She is a character that the majority of us can relate to, making her a heroine.

Oh well all love Bridget! She's the sort of girl you would love to have as your best mate. I wouldn't want to be her (well only if I could have Colin Firth!).I read this book long long before the film came out and found it a real laugh out loud read. Perfect for a pick me up. I've reread this several times!Take this on holiday, you won't regret it.

I found this book to be particularly frustrating. I understand that Bridget Jones is supposed to represent your typical average woman, but she focused on her weight so much throughout the book that I had trouble focusing on the story itself.

Well any self-respecting chick-lit reader has got to add this one to her bookshelf. Bridget was the brain child of Helen Fielding at first in a wildly popular British newspaper "soap style' article. The rest is history. Love it!

I thought the movie was 100 times better than the book... and that never happens!! I was so disappointed that I dont think I finished the book.

A single girl with a bunch of weird frnds .Wel whch single girl doesn't hav a bunch of crazy frnds .LOVE seems very important n even fr the previous generation .In all the madness the girl who bridget truly is doesn't change yes bt wat she changes ar men .Oh such a perfect afternoon read with a cosmopolitan in ur hand n ur sunglasses on . love love

The book was way better than the movie. Really liked the book. Very funny. The movie was way off.
