Published in English as "Wind, Sand, and Stars," this collection of memoirs from St-Ex's days as a mail pilot form a meditation on human existence, man's place in the world, and wild, untameable nature. St-Ex is one of my favorite writers because his spare and beautiful prose speaks eloquently to the heart about what it is to be human.

This short novel is really a collection of personal tales revolving around one theme: how exploration and adventure nourish the soul.
