Stellar read, absolute no-brainer of a choice for anyone into time-travel or romance fiction. Brilliantly told in such a way that all of its potential pitfalls are addressed in the first 100 pages. Read the last 100 pages in private, unless you like bawling in front of people.

I'm going to make this a fairly short review because if I go into detail I will ruin it for others. Just commenting on the writing alone, I really enjoyed the first half of the book, but I felt like it was downhill after that. It seemed like the author was going out of her way to be artsy or literary. There were entire sections that didn't add to the story while some questions were left unanswered. And some of the language she used for the Clare and Henry after they matured seemed out of place for their characters. For example, Clare uses a word to refer to her vagina (we'll leave it at that) that in my experience most educated adult women don't use in the common vernacular, and they refer to most of their love making as f***ing. It's hard to address this without spoilers, but I will suffice to say that there is no subtlety in her foreshadowing.

I am not fond of Romances at all but this blew me away!!! What a fantastic, edge-of-your-seat read! LOVED IT, read it in a weekend!
