Written by a woman with autism, this book explains how Animals and people with autism view the world, which turns out to be similar to an extent. Grandin is a remarkable person who has used her ersearch and expertise inthis field to help major companies liek McDonalds become more human in their methods of bringing animals to slaughter. I also tried to read her book on autism but it was not as interesting.

It's an OK book. Working in the industry, the pet industry, I understand many things she talks about but some I just plain don't agree with. But in general, I love temple grandin and I think we could learn a lot from her

Despite the groundbreaking nature of Temple Grandin's work, I found this book to be poorly written and organized, and thus wasn't able to read it cover to cover. Anyone interested in Temple's life story and the origin or her work may be interested in this book, but those who are more interested in her findings and recommendations for animal welfare may find a better summary elsewhere.

The subtitle of this book should be "Using the Mysteries of Animal Behavior to decode Autism" because the former is far more understandable to the average person than the latter. I've spent way more time with animals in my life than autistics, haven't you?
The idea is a worthy one, though, and it's well presented by one who at least has an insider's view.

I'm so glad this book worked it's way into my hands (on loan from Kelly). A little dense at times, but, overall, AMAZING. So important to read--not only to better understand animals, but people too.

If you want to know anything about how animals think, READ THIS! I was fascinated. I've read dozens of books on animal behavior and psychology. Any book I can get my hands on in fact, but this one has stuck through them all and I learned the most.
