"Cecilia" was the last Frances Burney novel that I read, after "Evelina" and then "Camilla". I adored "Camilla" so much that "Cecilia" was probably less enjoyable simply because "Camilla" is one of my all-time favorite books. I still had such a fondness for Camilla Tyrold in my heart as I read this particular novel by Fanny Burney that I couldn't completely become as enamored with Cecilia. For this reason, I strongly suggest my new method of reading: alternate beloved 18th century British literature with different genres or time periods. You don't want to waste all of that Old World goodness in a few sittings! "Cecilia" is a wonderful book, and I do recommend it whole-heartedly.

Just finished reading this one. It's about 1000 pages long. I enjoyed it very much, but you have to make the commitment. I recommend reading Evelina first.
