My all-time favourite author. A beautiful gift edition of all Austen's works. I think she should be compulsory reading for everyone who wants to know how to live a life of integrity, sincerity, virtue, nobleness and generosity - because these qualities shine through the characters in her novels. Her books are outstanding in their ability to depict human nature - both good and bad.

You might as well just get the complete novels because once you read one Austen novel you will definitely come back for more.

My summer Austen reading for 2009--short and sweet. Catherine is probably the most naive and innocent character I've encountered in an Austen novel yet. Henry Tilney another Darcy!

I took this tome away with me, thinking that I would labour over it during the four weeks I was away. Instead I devoured each of the 7 novels (only disliking Lady Susan).So, loved Jane more than I expected to. My only criticism is that she rushes the ending (the happily-ever-after part).
