This is a very thorough and interesting review of ancient Christian writings that didn't make it into the today's Bible for various reasons. The author is a former fundamentalist Christian and does interject disillusionment with his former beliefs. If you can tolerate that bias its pretty good reading.

Uh Oh. You mean there are books that the first century believers called "scripture," but did not make it into the final anthology? Ruh ro!

A fascinating and explanatory book at why certain gospels were left out, omitted altogether, or suppressed completely. While it doesn't answer every question, it uses facts and historical basis to try to explain the final accounts of the New Testament, and Yeshua's divinity.

Kinda heady. I\'d rather have had a book with the translations of the actual collection of the Gnostic Texts.

This book is a companion to the book called Lost Christianities and within it are many books that did not make it into the Biblical canon. Most of the books are 1st or 2nd centruy writings used by the various sects of Chrianity that existed before the consolidation of the church into one. Very intriguing for anyone who is into history, religion or Biblical theology.

A good book. Does not contain every lost book of the New Testament, but contains enough for most readers. The book contains background information on each book, and the translations are easy to read.
