The characters in this book were not that intriguing for me, and the plot had the feel of moving along at a pace that was far slower than it needed to be. Still Woolf puts a lot of interesting reflections and ideas into her first novel, and the depiction of multiple meanings of the title was ingenious. All in all something you should read if you're already into Virginia Woolf, for new readers probably not a great idea.
