Como indica el título se trata de poemas de amor. Hay que leerlos varias veces para apreciar el valor poético de estos sonetos porque se pierde mucho con una sola lectura.

Los cien sonetos de amor de Neruda dedicado por su esposa Matilda son los poemas más romantico, erotico y sexual en las historia de literatura. Es probable que para un hombre tan feo como Neruda, él atrajese muchas mujeres atráves esos sonetos. ¿Como una chica no puede ruborizarse después de leyendo lineas como de sus sonetos como, el soneto abajo.? 100 Love Sonnets - Cien Sonetos de amor by Pablo Neruda Pablo Neruda wrote the most beautiful sonnets in honor of his wife Matilde Urrutia. I loved this book of poems and have read them over and over. Poetry for all seasons from one of our most beloved poet.

I pick this up when Updike becomes too much, his middled-aged nihilist Rabbit vs. the voraciously loving, creatively fulfilled Neruda at a similar age. I do believe in love, after all. and I love that the English and Spanish are side by side. The translator makes some interesting choices. However some of the imagery is way beyond me, in any language.

Have been savoring for quite a while. Like poetry for traveling, waiting anywhere. Spanish on left and english on right got maximum enjoyment. I love his poetry passionately.

Read a couple but my favorite poem ever comes in this book. .....If anyone has seen Patch Adams it's the poem he reads to the girl.... I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep. -Pablo Neruda ......absolutely beautiful.
