A powerful firsthand account of humanity's need to invest heavily in nuclear energy for the future. The author is a great writer, and although she focuses a bit much (and a bit uncritically) on the global warming issue in some chapters, her journey from becoming a staunch critic to a staunch proponent of nuclear energy is a fascinating read. I learned so much about different forms of energy that I never realized before, and this book served to increase my support for nuclear power, the safest and most practical energy supply on which mankind must focus if we want a realistic way to meet our future needs (worldwide, not only in the US.)

Not the best told story of nuclear energy, but it is pretty good. I bit long and rambling at times, and self-serving to someone prominent in the book, but it does give most of the correct facts that will cause people to seriously reconsider nuclear power if they are prejudiced against it. Prejudice is a belief unsupported by facts. Those who are against nuclear power DO NOT have facts to back up their opposition. This book provides facts that cannot be ignored, and a reasonable person who was against nuclear power will not be against it any more. The author herself was very anti-nuclear power until she spent the time to learn about it, and then wrote the book about what she learned.
