This presents Barack Obama's thoughts on various topics in American culture. Although he does not present a diatribe of the Democratic party, it tends to become more "rambling" than anything else. For not having any footnotes or significant bibliography, it is an uncharacteristically long book. It would have been better if he presented some facts with his assertions. In that vain, it is no different than a rant from the Right. However, since this is a collection of thoughts of the current U.S. President, it does have merit.

Great book! Horrible policies. Obama has lots of solutions, and they all involve more government, more taxes and a lot less freedom. It's a simple equation – if you want to change the world, there is no easier way to do it than through the use of force. I wish Obama had sought a successful career as a motivational speaker, not a politician.

The man can not only speak well but also writes beautifully. Extremely articulative about his thoughts and thorough on the subject. I am immensely impressed. This one goes down as one of my favorite books ever.

This is an inspiring and truly uplifting book. In some ways it is apolitical and allows the American in all of us to have hope. If you have yet to read this book i suggest you do so, and while you do attempt to keep political ideals out of it.

After reading this book I admire and respect our President even more. He comes across as being down to earth, just a regular guy writing about his hopes and dreams for this country. He also gives us a glimpse into the ways of politics...not pretty!! It was inspiring to read and uplifting in the fact that it left me with more hope that we will see positive change in America's future!!

I admire him and can relate to him even more. He comes across as a normal human being with much of the same thoughts and challenges of many Americans who are trying to make a better life for their families.
