This book is great. While it does have a lot of practical application when it comes to disciplining kids, it really has a great overall thought process that is not only great for teaching our kids, but for teaching/re-teaching ourselves.

An absolute MUST, MUST read if you want to understand how to live in healthy relationships that are not unbalanced, harmful, freedom-restricting, enabling, stifling, harmful, manipulative, draining, unfair, etc. . . . BUT SUPER-SUPER healthy. Contains much scripture support. LIFE-CHANGING and INCREDIBLY IMPACTFUL!

Recommend to all parents/soon to be parents. All of Dr. Cloud / Dr. Townsend's books are great gems in getting us to better understand our behaviors. This one is especially helpful, both me and Rosanna have found many helpful insights in this book. Like Socrates says "An ignorant life is not worth living". It's better to know.

Madatory reading if you have kids, work with kids, or you just like to be around them...it has been immensely helpful to me.

An excellent resource for parents attempting to raise their children to have proper discipline in life. The authors do quite well at explaining how the concept of boundary formation and maintenance assists children in learning how to grow up and function in a responsible and mature way in the world. The authors are believers in God and provide judicious use of quotations of Scripture. The authors' explanation of how a lack of development proper boundaries in childhood leads to various challenges in adulthood is extremely illuminating and helps provide the "big picture" of parenting and what it is all about. The principles of maintaining firm boundaries while showing empathy for the challenges they provide for the child and also the distinction between hurt and harm are also quite beneficial. Extremely good resource-- one that every parent should consider.

I like the concepts. "Raising Great Kids" is more balanced with affirmation. This is mostly about discipline.

This book gave me inspiration as far as parenting my 3 children. I am actually applying what I have learned on a daily basis and it is working. It also helps me with my failures in parenting as well and as parents we ALL have those moments. This is well worth reading.

Boundaries for Kids is a must for parents today. It defines what boundaries are, why they are important, and how they will help your child grow in the image of Christ. It also provides helpful examples in implementing boundaries, while perserving a healthy relationship with your child.

Who doesn't need help with parenting? None of us had the perfect parents, and this non-emotional, working the boundaries with our kids...keeps the emotions tame. It also teaches our kids responsibility....their responsibilities!
