Took me a while to fully engage with this book; I felt that it started a bit slowly. However, it's well worth the effort to get through the first few chapters. The story really picks up, and pulls the reader into a community of intricately developed and connected characters and a fully fleshed out alternate universe. A major departure from the Twilight Saga, so whether you liked those books or not, do not look for more of the same here. Characters are more mature, and their conflicts illustrate deeply personal, yet universal moral and emotional dilemmas.

If you LOVE the Twilight series, you'll LIKE LIKE this even better. This is a different kind of sci-fi love story--weird, out-of-this word, but gripping and un-put-down-able nonetheless.

This book had a slow start but it was really worth reading all the way threw. It also got a little confusing in a few parts because of the "futuristic" factors. It was nice to read something else of Stephany Meyer's that didn't involve vampires. I would recommend this book to anyone.

I Loved it. Tthe suspence kept me on my toes ready to get to the next part. I harldy wated to put it down and was sad whenever I left it a home and didn't have it with me

It was a good book. Not disappointing in the least. There were a few places where it dragged a little, but most of the book was action and fast paced.

Awesome story, I personally think it's better than the Twilight saga. Hopefully she writes a sequel to it

By the same author as the Twilight series comes The Host. A story set not too far in the future where aliens have occupied planet earth by residing as hosts inside the bodies of the humans. The story revolves around the main character Mel, a human girl part of a resistance against the occupation, and the host, Wanda, that attempts to take full control of her body. Great ideas of what it's like to be two minds in one body and great imagination. Also some great and complicated romance as well. Amazing read, I would suggest it to anyone.
