The most inspiring book I've ever read. You see the difficulty of the struggle for freedom and come to understand the greatness of the man.The most inspiring book I've ever read. Reading this gives a true impression of the struggle in South Africa and you see that the struggle was a work of many not one man whilst truly appreciating Mandela's greatness.

A very humbling read.. An emotionally charged autobiography. I like the detailed descriptions of the country life he was born to; how freedom was perceived from young and throughout adulthood.I particularly like the learnings he managed to crystallize in writing, after each difficult encounters in his life's struggles. I would recommend this book to to anyone.

A truly amazing story about the fight for freedom in South Africa. It is not an easy read, especially at the start but once you get used to the names and the english used it is much easier and actually addictive! :)

this book is not only touching but can also inspire you to stand for you beliefs and convivtions with pride , it is alo tragical some of the things we learn about Mr Mandela's hardships in and outside prison as well as the sacrifice he made so that i could be free to do anything I want and the same for every south african,a good read for any one who needs to be clued up about the struggle for freedom in south africa

Such an amazing story!! This man has some serious dedication to his cause...we need more people like him in the world. It's a very good history on Africa as well...sad how cruel human beings can be. This is such an inspiring story though...makes you want to get off your *ss and do something!

A true diamond of a human being ever to walk the earth. He fought the wickedest of diseases consuming ordinary humans, with a noble spirit and undying love for the best that humanity represents. My favourite line was his insight that "Freedom" is not just for the opressed but the opressor as well, who is imprisoned by prejudice.
